Determines prospective blood donor eligibility, performs phlebotomies for all forms of collections including automated and apheresis treatments and post donation activities. Keep a high donor retention rate by practicing exceptional customer care methods and technical abilities. Support the achievement of the company’s goals by following organizational and departmental policies and procedures to guarantee compliance with regulative companies and in accordance with current Excellent Production Practices and security guidelines.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external policies. Brings compliance problems to the attention of management.
- Ensures quality customer service to all clients.
- Preserves excellent attendance and punctuality per the lack policy.
- Figures out the eligibility of all prospective donors based upon the examination of the health history and physical findings. Accepts and defers donors properly based upon relevant SOPs. Documents is neat and legible.
- Carries out the phlebotomy and associated tasks as per appropriate SOPs. Takes initiative to demonstrate the capability to process donors in a timely way, making use of the bed established specified by management. Seeks assistance when deemed suitable.
- Performs all quality assurance work processes. Precisely finishes all associated files in accordance with SOPs.
- Efforts to reschedule all donors. Recruits and converts donors for automated treatments when applicable. Demonstrates dedication and assistance to achieve business goals.
- Goes beyond customer support expectations by supplying a high degree of customer care to all contacts in assistance of the ITxM Objective. Displays awareness of donor perception. Uses suitable subjects of discussion to engage the donor. Refrains from negative subjects of discussion.
- Works positively and respectfully with colleagues, supervisors and supervisor, showing a dedication to teamwork. Displays an awareness of and sensitivity to multiculturalism.
- Donor Coach Just. Obligations include preparing the bus (load/unload), safely driving, parking, delivery of products to the production area and all other actions required for donor coach operation. Maintain existing CDL.
- Performs all other responsibilities, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
- High school education or equivalent (G.E.D) is needed.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Maintains existing CPR training is required.
Licenses/ Certifications
- Medical Assistant, Qualified Medical Assistant, Lifesaver, Accredited Practical Nurse, or Phlebotomy certification required or one year of Phlebotomy experience needed.
- Donor Coach Only- Valid, verifiable CDL needed with clean driving record or qualified and happy to get CDL within one year of employment required.
- Maintain a legitimate state chauffeur’s license is needed.
Experience
- One year customer service experience.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
Skills/Abilities
- Should have the skills and abilities to effectively perform all appointed responsibilities and responsibilities.
- Needs to be able to preserve confidentiality.
- Ability to carry out phlebotomy.
- Ability to multi job.
- Language skills should include the capability to read, compose, speak English successfully and follow oral and written directions consistent with policies and procedure, SOPs or other requirements.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work/participate in a team environment.
- Capability to interact effectively with the public and staff to boost Central Blood Bank’s relationship with the community.
- Keep a favorable focus in solving problems, which is observable in intonation, body language and conversation.
- Demonstrates team effort through both verbal and non-verbal actions that support department projects and modifications through involvement.
- Follows departmental reporting lines when dealing with worker and donor issues and/or tasks.
