Figures out possible blood donor eligibility, performs phlebotomies for all kinds of collections including automated and apheresis procedures and post contribution activities. Preserve a high donor retention rate by practicing excellent customer care techniques and technical skills. Support the achievement of the company’s objectives by following organizational and department policies and procedures to make sure compliance with regulatory companies and in accordance with existing Great Manufacturing Practices and safety guidelines.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all appointed responsibilities in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance concerns to the attention of management.
- Ensures quality client service to all consumers.
- Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.
- Figures out the eligibility of all potential donors based upon the evaluation of the health history and physical findings. Accepts and postpones donors properly based on suitable SOPs. Documents is cool and clear.
- Performs the phlebotomy and associated tasks based on applicable SOPs. Takes effort to show the capability to procedure donors in a timely way, using the bed established specified by management. Seeks support when considered suitable.
- Carries out all quality control work processes. Properly completes all associated files in accordance with SOPs.
- Efforts to reschedule all donors. Recruits and converts donors for automated treatments when appropriate. Shows commitment and support to accomplish company goals.
- Exceeds client service expectations by supplying a high degree of customer care to all contacts in assistance of the ITxM Objective. Display screens awareness of donor perception. Utilizes suitable subjects of conversation to engage the donor. Refrains from negative subjects of conversation.
- Works favorably and respectfully with co-workers, supervisors and supervisor, displaying a dedication to team effort. Shows an awareness of and level of sensitivity to cultural diversity.
- Donor Coach Just. Obligations consist of preparing the bus (load/unload), securely driving, parking, shipment of products to the production location and all other actions required for donor coach operation. Keep existing CDL.
- Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as appointed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
- High school education or equivalent (G.E.D) is needed.
- Knowledge of medical terms preferred.
- Maintains present CPR training is required.
Licenses/ Accreditations
- Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Practical Nurse, or Phlebotomy certification required or one year of Phlebotomy experience required.
- Donor Coach Only- Legitimate, verifiable CDL required with clean driving record or certified and happy to get CDL within one year of work required.
- Preserve a legitimate state motorist’s license is needed.
Experience
- One year customer support experience.
- Phlebotomy experience needed.
Skills/Abilities
- Need to have the skills and abilities to successfully perform all appointed duties and obligations.
- Must be able to keep confidentiality.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy.
- Capability to multi task.
- Language abilities need to consist of the capability to read, write, speak English effectively and follow oral and written directions constant with policies and procedure, SOPs or other requirements.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Capability to work/participate in a group environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff to boost Central Blood Bank’s relationship with the community.
- Maintain a favorable focus in resolving issues, which is observable in intonation, body language and discussion.
- Shows teamwork through both verbal and non-verbal actions that support department jobs and changes through participation.
- Follows departmental reporting lines when handling worker and donor issues and/or assignments.
