Identifies possible blood donor eligibility, performs phlebotomies for all types of collections including automated and apheresis procedures and post donation activities. Maintain a high donor retention rate by practicing outstanding customer care methods and technical abilities. Support the achievement of the company’s goals by following organizational and department policies and treatments to guarantee compliance with regulative agencies and in accordance with present Excellent Manufacturing Practices and security standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all assigned tasks in compliance with internal SOPs and external policies. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
- Assures quality client service to all consumers.
- Maintains good participation and punctuality per the absence policy.
- Figures out the eligibility of all prospective donors based upon the assessment of the health history and physical findings. Accepts and postpones donors appropriately based upon suitable SOPs. Paperwork is neat and legible.
- Carries out the phlebotomy and associated tasks as per suitable SOPs. Takes initiative to demonstrate the ability to process donors in a timely way, utilizing the bed set up specified by management. Seeks support when considered appropriate.
- Carries out all quality assurance work processes. Precisely completes all associated files in accordance with SOPs.
- Efforts to reschedule all donors. Employees and converts donors for automated treatments when suitable. Demonstrates commitment and support to attain company objectives.
- Surpasses customer service expectations by supplying a high degree of customer service to all contacts in assistance of the ITxM Mission. Screens awareness of donor perception. Utilizes proper subjects of conversation to engage the donor. Avoid unfavorable subjects of discussion.
- Functions positively and respectfully with co-workers, supervisors and supervisor, displaying a dedication to teamwork. Shows an awareness of and level of sensitivity to multiculturalism.
- Donor Coach Just. Duties consist of preparing the bus (load/unload), securely driving, parking, shipment of items to the manufacturing area and all other actions needed for donor coach operation. Keep existing CDL.
- Performs all other responsibilities, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
- High school education or equivalent (G.E.D) is needed.
- Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
- Preserves present CPR training is required.
Licenses/ Certifications
- Medical Assistant, Qualified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nurse, or Phlebotomy certification required or one year of Phlebotomy experience required.
- Donor Coach Only- Legitimate, proven CDL needed with tidy driving record or certified and happy to get CDL within one year of employment needed.
- Maintain a legitimate state chauffeur’s license is needed.
Experience
- One year customer service experience.
- Phlebotomy experience required.
Skills/Abilities
- Should possess the skills and capabilities to successfully perform all designated duties and responsibilities.
- Should be able to keep confidentiality.
- Ability to perform phlebotomy.
- Ability to multi task.
- Language abilities need to consist of the capability to check out, write, speak English successfully and follow oral and written guidelines consistent with policies and procedure, SOPs or other requirements.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work/participate in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate successfully with the general public and personnel to enhance Central Blood Bank’s relationship with the neighborhood.
- Preserve a positive focus in fixing issues, which is observable in tone of voice, body movement and discussion.
- Demonstrates team effort through both verbal and non-verbal actions that support department projects and modifications through involvement.
- Follows department reporting lines when handling employee and donor concerns and/or assignments.
