Cork University Maternity Hospital is broadening its community-based services for pregnant females in Cork city and county.
Following invoice of the recommendation letter from your GP, we set up a visit for you to discuss your pregnancy and case history with a midwife over the phone. When you come for your very first consultation in CUMH you will be seen by members of our multidisciplinary group consisting of:
An ultra-sonographer for your dating scan
A midwife for follow-up conversation consisting of physical examinations
A phlebotomist for regular blood test (if needed)
Expert for evaluation of your case history and care strategy
When you consult with a specialist, they will figure out the most ideal care path for you. The 3 care paths are Supported Care (Normal Risk), Assisted Care (Medium Risk) and Specialist Care (High Risk).
