This Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) volume consists of the documents provided at the Second International Workshop on Computational Forensics (IWCF 2008), held August 7– 8, 2008. It was a terrific honor for the organizers to host this scienti?c occasion at the distinguished National Academy of Sciences: Keck Center in Washington, DC, USA.
Computational Forensics is an emerging research study domain concentrating on the examination of forensic issues utilizing computational techniques. Its main goalis the discoveryand improvement of forensicknowledgeinvolving modeling, computer system simulation, and computer-based analysis and acknowledgment in studying and resolving forensic issues.
The Computational Forensics workshop series is planned as an online forum for scientists and professionals in all locations of computational and forensic sciences. This online forum talks about present difficulties in computer-assisted forensic investi- tions and provides current development and advances.
IWCF addresses a broad spectrum of forensic disciplines that utilize computer system tools for criminal examination. This year’s edition covers discussions on c- putational approaches for uniqueness research studies, computer-based3D processing and analysis of skulls and bodies, shoe print preprocessing and analysis, n- ural language analysis and details retrieval to support police, analysis and group visualization of speech recordings, scanner and print gadget forensics, and computer-based questioned file and signature analysis.
