Chapter12, Of Inflammation of the eye:
” The blood of a turtle dove, pigeon, or hen drawn by opening a vein under the wings, dropped into the eye, relieves discomfort. Baths are not just anodyne, however likewise remain the defluxion by diverting the matter thereof by sweats; for that reason Galen much applauds them in such defluxions of the eyes as visited fits.”
Chapter18, Of the Mydriasis, or dilatation of the student of the eye:
“Mydriasis is the dilatation of the student of the eye, and this occurs either by nature or possibility: the previous earnings from the default of the very first conformation, neither is it treatable; however the other is of 2 sorts; for it is either from an internal cause, the offspring of a humor streaming below the brain, wherefore physical ways should be utilized for the treatment thereof. Now that which comes over any external celebration, as a blow, fall or contusion upon the eye, should be treated by currently using repercussive and anodyne medications; the defluxion should be prevented by diet plan masterfully selected, phlebotomy, cupping scarification, frictions, and other treatments which might appear practical. Need to you come to fixing medications; as the blood of a turtle dove, pigeon, or chicken reeking hot out of the vein, being put upon the eye and the surrounding parts.”
