The roadway to healing is underway as Aransas County progresses with efforts to rejuvenate the economy in Rockport-Fulton and surrounding neighborhoods. The location initially suffered the disastrous rage of Hurricane Harvey in August 2017; and after that in 2015, the coronavirus pandemic hit, more affecting an economy depending on the tourist market and the labor force that supports it.
On, Oct. 7, partners—- consisting of Aransas County, the Aransas County Partnership Economic Development Corporation (ACPEDC), Del Mar College (DMC), the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA), U.S. Congressman Michael Cloud (R-District 27) and other federal government, organization and education leaders—- revealed the facility of the Aransas County Workforce Development Center and took initial trips of the previous Little Bay Primary School, which will house labor force training, Continuing Education, Career and Technical Education and scholastic courses when remodelling is finished next year.
