Phlebotomy (From the Greek words “phlebo-” indicating “relating to a capillary”, and “- tomy”, implying “to make a cut”) is the procedure of making a cut in a vein with a needle. The treatment itself is referred to as a venipuncture. An individual who carries out phlebotomy has the title “Phlebotomist”, although medical professionals, nurses, medical lab researchers and others do parts of phlebotomy treatments in lots of nations.
