A minute of panic. Before revealing that she’s expecting baby No. 2, Shawn Johnson East feared that the coronavirus pandemic might affect her pregnancy after hubby Andrew East learned that he ‘d evaluated positive for the disease.
The couple, who wed in April 2016, revealed in a YouTube video on Friday, January 15, that they have another kid on the way after welcoming daughter Drew in November2019 In the early stages of the former Olympian’s pregnancy, her hubby, 29, got a call that he ‘d contracted COVID-19
” We remained in this time of event and we wished to tell her parents and her good friends [about the baby], then I wound up having to friggin’ self-isolate for 10 days,” Andrew discussed, without going into much detail about his signs.
Trying to browse the circumstance as safely as possible was “complicated” for the family, Shawn, 28, included. “We were terrified to start with that you had COVID. We weren’t sure if Drew had it, we weren’t sure if I had it. So I was calling her pediatrician, I was calling my[doctor] … I was like, ‘What do we do? Do I need to fret about being pregnant?’ … I got so afraid of potentially increasing my risks of miscarriage.”
The retired gymnast previously suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage in October2017 Despite her previous ups and downs in conceiving, the Iowa local just recently told United States Weekly solely that she was prepared to keep expanding her household
” I feel like it was around the 1 year mark [with Drew], which was a month back, that we finally were, like, ‘OK, we feel like ourselves once again,'” Shawn stated in December.
The biggest challenge for Andrew amid his coronavirus battle was isolating himself from his loved ones. However, the former football gamer acknowledged that “all things considered,” he and Shawn “have it very easy” when it concerns dealing with the global health crisis.
” Having an other half who you simply found is pregnant, who you wanted to support and celebrate with and hug and snuggle … it was not the perfect scenario,” Andrew stated. “But I’m delighted for this new journey. We do not understand what it’s about to look like.”
