Job Summary Perform all patient service and needed blood and sample collection/tracking/transport/ processing for all patient groups. This position will float to numerous locations.

PRN shifts designated to Sandusky and Lorain Cleveland Center areas.

Task Details

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out blood collection treatments and related tasks.
  • Provide outstanding patient service at check in where suitable.
  • Validates order requests and recognizing info prior to drawing blood or gathering the specimen/kit to be tested by analytical staff. Label all specimens collected and provide them to the proper processing location.
  • Follow venipuncture treatments and maintain appropriate log sheets.
  • Greet patients warmly when they provide to outpatient laboratory desks or when entering a client’s space and total test request entry and specimen receipt utilizing lab computer system.
  • Perform specimen processing and send tasks consisting of accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging for transportation when needed for all specimen types.
  • Precisely interact vital details to appropriate personnel.
  • Actively listen and promote effective interaction circulation both within and outside of the department.
  • Get and provide blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies to proper locations.
  • Maintain a fantastic customer service relationship and engage in an enjoyable, courteous and cordial manner with colleagues and patients at all times.
  • Participate in team discussions, offer issue solving ideas and contribute to quality improvement goals.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Accreditations:

  • Official phlebotomy certification chosen.

Complexity of Work:

  • Difficulty shooting and problem fixing skills in a group environment is necessary.
  • Efficiently run in a flexible work environment.
  • Show the ability to work under very little guidance.
  • Should have the ability to master a high-volume, busy work environment.

Work Experience:

  • Technical efficiency; standard procedures, strategies and common practices required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Needs regular and long period of time of standing and walking.
  • Visual acuity including the capability to differentiate colors.
