About this Function

As a Phlebotomist/Driver, you’ll utilize your compassion and client service skill to collect lifesaving blood donations from our volunteer donors and ensure they have the very best experience possible. Your driving experience will help us with transporting devices and setting up at the collection websites. The Red Cross uses paid phlebotomy training with the capability to grow your abilities and career within the nation’s top humanitarian organization. Responsibilities

  • Make the effort to personally get in touch with donors– listen to their stories and assist them understand the worth of their donation
  • Contribute to a friendly and fun environment. Coordinate with your co-workers to keep our donors returning once again and again
  • Be in-depth oriented throughout the day, every day, to guarantee that the blood you gather fulfills objectives, regulative requirements and can be safely transfused
  • To finest fulfill the needs of our donors and community, Phlebotomist/Drivers work a variable schedule consisting of mornings, late nights, weekends and vacations

Certifications

  • High school diploma or comparable needed
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal interaction skills are needed
  • Ability to work a variable schedule including mornings, late nights, weekends and vacations. Overnight travel may be required
  • A current, legitimate chauffeur’s license with great driving record is required. Experience driving larger cars chosen.
  • DOT accreditation might be required in some locations. If needed, need to pass appropriate DOT physical and associated requirements and have the ability to have or obtain a medical accreditation of a minimum of one-year period.
  • Capability to load and unload vehicles with or without affordable lodgings
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally physically assisting donors experiencing an unfavorable response, along with pressing or pulling heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs (potentially as much as 250 lbs. in weight and with approximately 75- degree angles). Physical requirements may be carried out in adverse weather conditions
  • Fundamental computer abilities are preferable
