Have you wondered how is it possible to take an online phlebotomy class? If you have, it would be a logical question. First thing you want to do is make sure that the training you are receiving is going to relevant and uptodate. You don’t want to learn from someone who is really not that knowledgeable or who will misinform you about crucial aspects of being a phlebotomist. Next, you will want to see a sample of the lectures that the school offers. You can tell a lot from the instructor from listening to their lecture. You will also want to ask yourself is the course you are taking reputable. Do the instructors have a degree, or have they been in the health field for a long time? Let’s face it, you want to be a phlebotomist right? It’s fun! You see a patient for a few minutes, and then draw their blood, which by the way the technical term is, “perform a venipuncture” and then your done, you got the Blood, and your on to the next patient. Sounds like a dream job. Well, for those who are not afraid of the site of blood anyway. But that’s another story for another day. As anxious as you may be to take a phlebotomy class online especially, keep in mind one thing. You have to be able to complete at least thirty blood draws. Now that may not seem like a lot, but for some students who are out in the middle of nowhere, that can be an issue. So, before you jump, look. Ask around to local clinics, blood banks, plasma centers, the Salvation Army free clinics along with the Veterans hospitals and make sure that you have an externship lined up. We are going to take you above an beyond they typical phlebotomy class. Our online lectures go into great depth. But if you don’t understand something, just call or text your instructor. Also the national exam is included as well as the physical copy of the national study guide, which is by the way over 400 pages. Wow! So I hope that this has helped you a bit in deciding what career path you want to choose. Don’t be afraid of online. That’s what I tell my student’s. Afterall, aren’t we all online now. Even kindergartener’s. Though for the life of me I’m not sure how these little guys can be online for so long. I tell them, if you can text and go to YouTube, then you can take an online class.
