The medical tradition that established in the lands of Islam throughout the middle ages period (c. 650-1500) has, like couple of others, affected the fates and fortunes of many human beings. It is a story of contact and cultural exchange across nations and creeds, affecting many individuals from kings to the typical crowd. This custom formed the roots from which modern-day Western medicine arose. Contrary to the stereotyped picture, middle ages Islamic medicine was not merely a conduit for Greek ideas, but a venue for development and modification. Medieval Islamic Medicine is organized around five subjects: the emergence of middle ages Islamic medication and its extreme crosspollination with other cultures; the theoretical medical structure; the function of physicians within the larger society; medical care as translucented maintained case histories; and the function of magic and devout spiritual invocations in academic in addition to everyday medicine. A concluding chapter on the “afterlife” worries the effect of this custom on modern European medical practices, and its continued practice today. The book consists of an index of persons and their books; a timeline of developments in East and West; and a section on further reading.
