Phlebotomy is the process of making an incision in a vein with a needle. The treatment itself is referred to as a venipuncture. An individual who carries out phlebotomy is called a “phlebotomist”, although doctors, nurses, medical lab researchers and others do parts of phlebotomy treatments in lots of countries.
