The WHO Standards on Hand Hygiene in Health Care offer health-care employees (HCWs), hospital administrators and health authorities with a thorough evaluation of proof on hand health in health care and particular recommendations to enhance practices and reduce transmission of pathogenic microbes to patients and HCWs. The present Guidelines are planned to be carried out in any situation in which health care is delivered either to a client or to a specific group in a population. This principle applies to all settings where health care is completely or occasionally performed, such as house care by birth attendants.
